Something I enjoy almost as much as golf is gambling. So I am always up for combining the two activities. Unfortunately that has a way of increasing my overall golf expense. I don’t golf well under pressure and my game is sketchy in the first place. Of course these facts do nothing to deter me; I’ve been called ATM for a reason.

I am just about always the underdog. Unless of course someone joins the group that has never golfed before, then my odds improve slightly. I think the reason I like betting on my golf game is the satisfaction of occasionally taking money off people that hate losing. A lot of people take golf way too seriously. I can never understand how anyone can be in a bad mood on a golf course. Ok sure it can be frustrating to hack up a course, but it still beats work. Chances are it’s a nice day, the sun is shining, birds are chirping and you probably even have a cold beer.

So when I win a few bucks off someone that considers themselves a better golfer or just takes the game too seriously, it makes my day even better. More likely I will be giving away money, but in the end I still got to spend a few hours during the day to do two things I love, golfing and gambling. Make that three… and drinking beer.
